INSTRUCTOR TRAINING

Instructor Training is a course of study and educational discipline to prepare a licensed cosmetologist to become a qualified instructor in a licensed school of cosmetology.

Course Objectives:
Upon the completion of this course the student will have acquired the ability to pass the State Board of Cosmetology examination, become a licensed instructor, and have the capability to:

1. Supervise the clinic floor;
2. Construct lesson plans;
3. Teach different subjects in the professional field; and
4. Manage a cosmetology school.

Instructional Methods:
Instructor trainees observe, plan, prepare, present and evaluate. Effective teaching skills are gained through working with licensed instructors and counseling sessions.

Content of Instruction
Introduction to Teaching 25 clock hours
Analysis of Teaching . 50 clock hours
Program Development 50 clock hours
The Basic Class 50 clock hours
Cosmetology Theory 150 clock hours
Pre-Clinic Orientation 25 clock hours
Counseling, Testing & Recording 50 clock hours
Clinic Supervision 150 clock hours
Professional Development 21 clock hours
Job Opportunities 4 clock hours
School Administration 25 clock hours
